International conferences on the theme of “Parliamentary Cultures in Europe”, organised by KGParl - Hoofdinhoud
Within the scope of its research focus, “Parliaments and Parliamentarianism in Europe”, the KGParl is planning different international conferences on the theme of “Parliamentary Cultures in Europe”.
The topic of the first conference, titled “The Parliament as a Sphere of Communication”, is the structural conditions and the change in function of parliamentary communication in Europe from the 19th to the 21st centuries .
The process of the perception and self-observation of parliaments, the media and the public will be discussed in four panels. The event will take place on November 4-6, 2010 in Berlin. The discussion of the planned presentations in the four panels will start off with an expert’s commentary and should make a thorough comparison between West- and East-Central Europe possible. The contributions of the speakers will be made available to the moderators and commentators ahead of time. The conference languages are German and English.
Details about the planned conference program can be found here (Word file). If you are interested in the event, please contact us at kaiser@kgparl.de .
