Call for Papers: The Cortez of Cadiz and the First Spanish Liberal Constitutionalism, and its International Impact (Cádiz) - Hoofdinhoud
The Spanish member of the EuParl network helps organising the 63 Conference of the International Commission for History of Representative and Parliamentary Institutions in Cádiz, Spain on 5-8 September 2012.
The International Commission has chosen the City of Cadiz as the venue for its 63rd Conference, as part of the programme of the bicentennial of the Constitution approved by new Parliament or Cortes of Cadiz in 1812. The main conference theme is: The Cortez of Cadiz and the First Spanish Liberal Constitutionalism, and its International Impact to acknowledge the value of the influence of the 1812 Constitution and Cortes on the models for Liberal constitutions, both in Europe and the new Latin American states.
Papers are also invited on the following conference themes:

-Parliamentary officers – elected representatives and officials.
-
-Representative assemblies in the Old Regime – forms and representation.
-
-Reactionaries vs. Liberals – propaganda elements (the press, leaflets, symbols and imagery).
-
-Modern Parliaments – census suffrage and equal suffrage.
-
-Other Constitutions in 1812.
Paper Submission:
A copy of the paper proposal should be submitted in Din-A4 format and have a minimum of 2,000 characters (single space). Proposals must be accompanied by a copy stating the title, name(s) of the author(s), contact details (mailing address, city, telephone number and e-mail address), academic/professional activity, name of institution or company and a brief CV.
Paper proposals will be accepted in Spanish, English, French or German. The deadline for proposal submission is 16 January 2012 and paper proposals must be submitted to diana.repeto@uca.es, diego.caro@uca.es. All proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Relevance to the conference theme(s) and quality will be considered when reviewing submissions. Authors will be notified of the acceptance of proposals before 31 January 2012.Those who have received the notification of acceptance will be required to submit the paper at the latest on 15 June 2012.
Paper Submission (Guidelines for Authors):

1.Manuscripts must be accompanied by a copy stating the title, name(s) of the author(s), contact details (mailing address, city, telephone number and e-mail address), academic/professional activity, name of institution or company and a brief CV.

2.Presentation of papers in the Conference sessions is mandatory for final publication of papers.

3.All manuscripts must not exceed 35,000 characters, spaces and notes all included.

4.A copy of the manuscript (carefully checked) on A4 size paper must be sent on paper and another on CD. Full texts should be in Microsoft Word version (or compatible). CDs must be labelled with the name of author(s), title, and name of programme and version used.

5.Format and size:A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm).
