Successful conference on the 1911 Constitution of Greece - Hoofdinhoud
On November 25th, 2011, the Hellenic Parliament Foundation successfully organised a conference regarding the one-hundred year anniversary of the adoption of the 1911 Greek Constitution. The Constitution of 1911 was the cornerstone in establishing the principle of the Rule of Law (État de Droit) in Greece. The 1911 Constitution was mainly applied during the Interwar Period and during the years after World War II, while it was also the fundament of the 1952 Constitution.
The issues discussed at the conference included aspects of political and constitutional theory and history. Reference was also made to the provisions of the 1911 Constitution with regard to the acceleration of the legislative process and the application of the newly introduced regulations at that time by subsequent Constitutions and Rules of Procedure adopted in the Hellenic Parliament.
