The Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Štefan Füle met with the Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Musa Xhaferri of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. They discussed, in particular, measures the government is taking with respect to the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement.

The High Level Accession Dialogue, held on 15 March in Skopje, addressed the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement as an integral element of the rule of law and respect of fundamental rights in the country. The Deputy Prime Minister informed the Commissioner about progress in this area. Commissioner Füle reiterated unequivocal support for the Ohrid Framework Agreement as a living pillar of the democratic and legal order of the country. Its full implementation, in a spirit of consensus, remains the best way to ensure the functioning and the cohesiveness of this unique inter-ethnic democracy.
