President of the Commission José Manuel Barroso will visit Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory. From 7 to 10 July.
On 8 July, the President will meet with Mr Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority and Mr Salam Fayyad, Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority.
He will attend the opening of a police training centre, in Jericho. He will then go to Bethlehem, where he will visit the Aida Refugee Camp, the Church of the Nativity and the Old City.
On 9 June, he will meet with President of Israel Shimon Peres, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Speaker of the Knesset Reuven Rivlin, Governor of the Bank of Israel Stanley Fisher and Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman.
The President will also visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and the Israel Museum.
On 10 June President Barroso will receives a honorary Doctorate at Haifa University.
