Sinds de Eurocrisis is Europa één van de meest besproken onderwerpen door politici en de media. De discussies gaan meestal over meer of minder Europa. Een middenweg lijkt lastig te vinden. Voor de komende parlementsverkiezingen staat de toekomst van EU hoog op de politieke agenda. Waar staan de verschillende politieke partijen als het om Europese integratie gaat, welke keuzes maken ze en waarom?
Om daar meer duidelijkheid over te krijgen organiseert Instituut Clingendael, in samenwerking met De Haagse Hogeschool, de Europese Beweging in Nederland en het Montesquieu Instituut een groot verkiezingsdebat over de EU. Politici, experts en publiek gaan in debat over prangende Europese kwesties, zoals verdiepte economische integratie, arbeidsmigratie en de gevoelige band tussen Nederlandse kiezers en Europa.

The Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael is a knowledge institute for international relations. In a constantly changing global environment, Clingendael acts as a think-tank as well as a diplomatic academy in order to identify and analyze emerging political and social developments for the benefit of the Dutch government and the general public.
Clingendael seeks to achieve this objective through research, by publishing studies, organising courses and training programmes, and by providing information. The Institute acts in an advisory capacity to the government, parliament and social organisations, holds conferences and seminars, maintains a library and documentation centre, and publishes a Dutch language monthly on international politics as well as a newsletter. Clingendael currently employs some 75 staff, the majority of whom are researchers and training staff.
