Statement by the spokespersons of High Representative Catherine
Ashton and EU Commissioner Stefan Fiile on the new government in Serbia
"High Representative Catherine Ashton and Commissioner Fiile welcome the formation of a new government in Serbia and congratulate Ivica Dacic on assuming the role of Prime Minister. Serbia faces many challenges and needs an effective government able to take important reforms forward.
The High Representative and Commissioner Fiile expect the new government to continue to deliver on the European integration agenda, regional cooperation and reconciliation, including through the early resumption of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and swift implementation of the agreements reached.
The High Representative spoke today to Prime Minister Dacic and stressed that she is looking forward to working with him and his government in facing these challenges."
