The Centre for Parliamentary History (abbreviation in Dutch: CPG) was founded in 1970 as one of the research institutes of the Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
The research focus of the CPG is the postwar history of Dutch parliament and the consecutive governments. The Centre published a series of monographs on the subject (“Parliamentary History of the Netherlands since 1945“). At this moment the (seven) CPG-researchers are working on the volumes on the period 1971-onwards.
Furthermore, the research results are published on a regular basis in the “Yearbook Parliamentary History“ from 1999 onwards as well as in various biographies of important Dutch politicians.
Next to its function as a research centre the CPG has built up a solid reputation in the Netherlands as an information source on the background history of Dutch politics. The Centre receives many requests for lectures, articles, and newspaper, radio and television comments. Finally, the CPG participates in the Bachelor and Master educational programs of Radboud University
