The Czech Chamber of Deputies hosted a conference organized by the Institute of Contemporary History in Prague. It dealt with the 1968 foundation of the Czech National Council, the first Czech legislature within Czechoslovakia.
The conference explored the roots and different faces of the sub-federal National Council: two decades of socialist parliamentarianism (or was it not?) in late Communist dictatorship as well as its democratization after 1989.
